Diversity in Football and the Workplace

Updated: Sep 25

Diversity has become one of the most talked-about topics in both football and the workplace in 2024. From major matches like Man City vs. Inter in the Champions League to clashes such as Brann vs. KFUM and KBK vs. Molde, we see how diversity enriches teams on the field. Different nationalities, cultures, and playing styles merge to create an unpredictable and dynamic football experience that attracts millions of fans. Just as football shows, diversity is key to success – both on the football field, in the workplace, and in business.

At Time2Staff, we are convinced that diversity is more than just a slogan; it is a genuine commitment to action. We build our teams with talents from various international backgrounds to create an inclusive workplace where everyone feels a sense of belonging. Diverse perspectives fuel innovation and foster creativity, which is as crucial in business as it is in football.

But why is it so hard for large companies in Norway to do the same? Many talk about inclusion, but as Time2Staff COO Hadis Heydarian points out, there is often a gap between words and action. Many big players use diversity as a marketing tool, but when it comes to actually hiring international candidates, we often encounter diversity washing – focusing on superficial characteristics like name or language skills instead of talent and motivation.

Time2Staff takes a different approach. We recruit based on talent, motivation, and creativity – regardless of nationality, language, or background. As Heydarian says, "It’s motivation and creativity that drive companies to outperform competitors, not uniformity."

We see how teams like Man City, Tottenham, and PSG benefit from diversity in their football squads, and we believe that businesses can achieve the same with diverse teams. Together, we can build a more inclusive work environment where international talent has the opportunity to shine. Talent is what matters most, not race or background. Talent brings creativity and value to the team. Diversity promotes innovation in both business and football.

Are you ready to take diversity seriously? Join Time2Staff in creating a future of true diversity, innovation, and inclusion.
